Ford Military Discount: $500 or $1,000 Depending on Your ZIP Code
Part of: The Complete Guide to the SCRA
Ford pays a military cash reward of $500 or $1,000, and the number depends on the ZIP code you type in. Ford’s FAQ says it plainly: “this offer may vary by market.” The lookup on Ford’s program site, fordrecognizesu.com, which Ford’s own newsroom calls “our website,” was run on October 16, 2026 with ZIP codes at seven installations. Four came back at $1,000 on a new Ford. Three came back at $500.
The program year runs January 6, 2026 to January 4, 2027. Ford calls it the Military Recognition Program, and it is Ford Motor Company’s money, separate from anything Ford Credit does on your loan.
What the lookup returned
| Item | $500 markets | $1,000 markets |
|---|---|---|
| ZIPs read, October 16, 2026 | 98433 (JBLM), 92055 (Camp Pendleton), 80913 (Fort Carson) | 28310 (Fort Bragg), 76544 (Fort Hood), 23511 (Naval Station Norfolk), 32542 (Eglin AFB) |
| Brands | Ford or Lincoln, $500 | Ford $1,000; Lincoln $500 |
| Program number | PGM# 32894 | PGM #33282 (Ford); PGM# 32894 (Lincoln) |
| Order or delivery deadline | January 4, 2027 | Ford by November 2, 2026; Lincoln by January 4, 2027 |
| Veterans | Within 24 months of separation, per the program page | Ford: all veteran members; Lincoln: within 2 years of separation |
| Model years | New 2025, 2026, 2027 | New 2025, 2026, 2027 |
| Household limit | Five purchases or leases | Five purchases or leases |
A Detroit ZIP, 48226, checked as a control, also returned $500. Both versions exclude the F-150, Ranger and Bronco Raptor models and the Mustang GTD. The $500 terms also exclude the Mustang Dark Horse and the Bronco Stroppe, and the $1,000 terms exclude the Mustang Dark Horse SC. Neither version may be combined with another Ford private offer.
The deadline difference matters. The $1,000 Ford offer in those four markets needs an order or delivery by November 2, 2026, two months before the $500 version ends. If you are near one of those bases and want the larger figure, the clock is shorter.
Who Ford counts as military
Ford’s list reaches recruits who have not shipped yet and leaves out many drilling reservists. Its FAQ names active members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard and Space Force, plus reservists serving on active duty and members of the Delayed Entry Program. The program details page lists only the first five branches, so Space Force members should keep the FAQ handy. Spouses and surviving spouses are included, and so are other household members who are U.S. residents. Retirees count, medical retirements included.
The cuts are specific. Reservists must be “on orders to deploy” or be veterans within 24 months of separation. The FAQ then lists the Selected Reserve, the Individual Ready Reserve, the Standby Reserve and state guard forces as not eligible. Veterans outside 24 months get the offer only where a regional incentive covers them, which the four $1,000 ZIPs did. The Guard and Reserve coverage guide explains when federal law treats a reservist as serving, which is a separate question from Ford’s list.
The certificate is the discount code
There is no promo code to type. You enter your ZIP, verify through ID.me, and receive an email with a unique Certificate ID. Bring that email to the dealer. Ford says dealers can look the certificate up through a Certificate Inquiry in Smart VINCENT, a dealer-side system, but numbers upload nightly and appear the next business day. If you verify the morning you buy, the dealer may not see it yet.
ID.me asks for your Social Security number and an email address. For proof, Ford’s program page lists an LES, an Enlisted or Officer Record Brief, or an enlistment contract for active members; a DD214, NGB Form 22, VA health or veteran ID card, or a license with a veteran endorsement for veterans; and a Retiree Account Statement or a DD214 showing 20 years or a retirement discharge for retirees. Stationed overseas? Ford’s FAQ says you are still eligible and sends you to Military AutoSource for the details.
What $1,000 does next to the loan
Use an illustrative $45,000 price on a new Ford; Ford’s program pages print no vehicle prices. The $1,000 reward is about 2.2% of that price and $500 is about 1.1%. Financed at an illustrative 7% for 60 months, $1,000 less borrowed lowers the payment $19.80 and saves $1,188 over the loan, interest included. The $500 version saves $594.
The rate moves more money than the reward. On $44,000 over 60 months, 8% instead of 7% costs $1,255 in extra interest. That is more than the $1,000 reward. Ford’s printed terms do not require Ford Credit, so take the cash and the cheapest rate you can find, from Ford Credit or from one of the lenders in the military car loans comparison.
Delayed Entry members have one more angle. A loan you sign before your active-duty date is incurred before military service, so once you report, a written request with your orders can bring it down to 6% under § 3937 if its rate is higher. The pre-service lender guide covers that timing.
Ford Credit, leases and orders
If you finance a Ford you buy while serving, no federal law caps the rate. The SCRA’s 6% ceiling stops at debts you owed before your active-duty start date. Under 32 CFR 232.3(f)(2)(ii), the Military Lending Act regulation leaves out credit to buy a vehicle when that credit “is secured by the vehicle being purchased.” The Ford Credit SCRA page covers the loans that do qualify, the ones signed before you entered service.
A lease is where Ford Credit owes you something on orders. Under 50 U.S.C. § 3955, a lease you signed while serving ends with no early termination charge if you get PCS orders out of the continental United States, orders from Alaska, Hawaii or a territory to anywhere beyond it, or deployment orders of at least 180 days. A lease signed before you entered service qualifies once you go on active duty under orders of 180 days or more, which is the usual Guard and Reserve case. Mileage and wear charges survive. If a PCS outside the continental U.S. is likely before the term ends, a lease gives you a door that a loan does not. Price the exit with the lease termination calculator, and file the notice with the letter generator.
Get the Ford military cash reward
- Run the ZIP lookup at fordrecognizesu.com/military with the ZIP where you will register the vehicle. Note whether it shows $500 or $1,000 and the deadline.
- Verify through ID.me before you visit a dealer. Have your SSN, an email address, and your LES, DD214 or retiree statement ready.
- Save the email with your Certificate ID. Give the dealer a day for it to appear in Smart VINCENT.
- Pick an eligible 2025 to 2027 model; Raptor models and the Mustang GTD are out. Order or take delivery by the deadline your ZIP showed.
- Get an outside rate quote and compare it with Ford Credit. The cash does not depend on who finances.
- If orders are likely during the term, weigh a lease, which § 3955 lets you end, against a loan, which it does not.

Frequently asked questions
Does Ford have a military discount for veterans?
Yes, with a time limit in most places. Ford's program details page, read October 16, 2026, says honorably discharged veterans within 24 months of separation are eligible, and that you may qualify for a special regional incentive regardless of separation date. That regional version showed up for ZIPs at Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, Norfolk and Eglin: $1,000 on a new Ford ordered or delivered by November 2, 2026, with terms naming all veteran members of an eligible branch. Enter the ZIP where you will register the vehicle to see which version you get.
How does the Ford military discount work with ID.me?
You start on fordrecognizesu.com/military, enter the ZIP where you will register the vehicle, and select Find My Offer. Step two sends you to ID.me, which Ford says usually takes under a minute, or up to 4 minutes if you upload documents. ID.me asks for your Social Security number and an email address, and Ford offers no way around either. Once verified, you get a confirmation email with a unique Certificate ID, and that email is your proof at the dealership.
Where do I find my Ford military discount code?
The code is the Certificate ID in the confirmation email ID.me triggers after verification. Check your spam folder first. Ford's FAQ says a dealer can search for it in Smart VINCENT under Certificate Inquiry, and that certificate numbers upload nightly, so they show up the next business day. If you still cannot find it, call Ford Program Headquarters at (888) 322-5862. Ford says a certificate search can take up to 48 hours, so do not wait until the day you sign.
What are the Ford military discount requirements for Guard and Reserve members?
Ford's FAQ lists the National Guard as eligible under its branch and counts reservists serving on active duty as active duty. A reservist otherwise must be on orders to deploy or be a veteran within 24 months of separation. The same FAQ puts the Selected Reserve, the Individual Ready Reserve, the Standby Reserve and state guard forces on its not-eligible list. If you are in the Selected Reserve without orders, Ford's list leaves you to qualify as a veteran or retiree, so run ID.me before you shop rather than at the dealer.
Do I have to finance with Ford Credit to get the military cash?
No term Ford printed requires it. The offer terms read October 16, 2026 set eligibility, model years, a delivery deadline and a five-vehicle household limit, and say nothing about Ford Credit. They do say the reward may not be combined with any other Ford private offers, and the FAQ sends stacking questions to the dealer. The cash lowers the price, not the rate, so compare a Ford Credit quote with an outside preapproval before you sign.
