Nissan Military Discount: $500 That Stacks; Survivors Qualify Too
Part of: The Complete Guide to the SCRA
Nissan’s military discount is $500, and Nissan lets it ride on top of its other deals. Nissan’s military page, read October 16, 2026, says the Military Program “can be combined with all current national and regional incentives.” It also reaches past the service member: a surviving spouse, child or parent can qualify with the right paperwork.
What Nissan does not print on that page is an end date or a model list. Those sit on its regional offer pages, behind a ZIP code. This page reads them for ZIP 28310, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, which Nissan’s site placed in its Raleigh market.
Nissan’s terms, line by line

The survivors line reaches further than most. GM’s program says no to surviving spouses, and Nissan names spouses, children and parents, along with the papers to bring. If you are a surviving spouse, child or parent shopping for a Nissan, bring the photocopy the terms name.
Nothing in the military terms says you must finance through Nissan Motor Acceptance Company (NMAC). Several of the other offers on the same pages do, so read each line on the buyer’s order.
Which Nissans showed the $500
For ZIP 28310, Nissan’s offer pages listed $500 Military Bonus Cash on six 2026 models (Kicks, Sentra, Altima, Rogue, Pathfinder and LEAF) and on the 2027 Frontier. Each detail page ended with “Offer ends 11/02/2026.” The terms tell you to check the Military Cash Program offers list for current eligible vehicles, and that link did not open a list when this page was read. If your model is not one of these, ask the dealer to show you the military cash line before you negotiate.
These are regional numbers for one market, not a national list. Nissan sets offers by region, and its site placed ZIP 28310 in the Raleigh market and the South region. Enter your own ZIP before you shop.
Cash or 0% on a 2026 Pathfinder
This is where the money is. For ZIP 28310, Nissan offered the 2026 Pathfinder with $5,000 Retail Customer Cash or 0.0% APR for 60 months through NMAC, and the cash line says it is “not compatible with NMAC special APR or special lease programs.” The $500 military cash goes on top of either. Here is the choice on Nissan’s listed $39,990 MSRP, used as an illustrative price before tax and fees.
| Path | Amount financed | Rate | Payment, 60 months | Total paid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0% APR plus $500 military | $39,490 | 0.0% | $658.17 | $39,490 |
| $5,000 cash plus $500 military, 4% outside loan | $34,490 | 4.0% (illustration) | $635.19 | $38,111 |
| $5,000 cash plus $500 military, 6% outside loan | $34,490 | 6.0% (illustration) | $666.79 | $40,007 |
The break-even outside rate is about 5.46%. Below it, take the $5,000 and finance with a credit union. Above it, take the 0% from NMAC. Either way the $500 military cash is yours, and Nissan prints its own figure of $16.67 a month per $1,000 at 0% for 60 months, which matches the table within pennies. Compare rates at the military credit unions before you pick a path.
Leases through NMAC and orders
Nissan’s featured lease for ZIP 28310 was a 2026 Rogue SV at $299 a month for 36 months, $4,069 due at signing, including a $3,770 down payment, and “valid only when financed through NMAC.” If PCS or deployment orders are likely, a lease is the contract you can end. Under 50 U.S.C. § 3955, a lease signed during service ends without an early termination charge on orders moving you out of the continental United States or deploying you for 180 days or more, and lease amounts paid in advance for later months come back within 30 days.
That refund is where NMAC has been tested. Its 2019 settlement with the Justice Department resolved allegations that it refunded no portion of the capitalized cost reduction paid by service members who terminated leases after qualifying orders. The settlement defines capitalized cost reduction to include cash, a trade-in, or “certain rebates,” and requires NMAC to refund advance lease amounts “including those applied as CCR.” It does not say whether a rebate’s share comes back. Ask NMAC in writing before you put the $500 into a lease you may end early. The 2019 case page has the settlement figures, and the PCS money guide covers what else a move pays.
Federal law on an NMAC loan signed while serving
A loan you take while on active duty has no federal rate ceiling. The text of § 3937 limits the 6% cap to an obligation incurred “before the servicemember enters military service.” Separately, the MLA regulation in 32 CFR 232.3(f)(2)(ii) leaves vehicle purchase credit out when the vehicle secures it. A Nissan loan from before service is another matter: the NMAC SCRA page covers the Military Center of Excellence that handles those requests, and the veterans guide covers what survives separation.
Stack the Nissan military cash
- Enter your ZIP on Nissan’s offers page and note which models show $500 Military Bonus Cash and the end date.
- Gather proof: a current LES or orders, a DD-214 showing separation within 24 months, a 20-year retiree ID, or for survivors a DD-214, Summary of Benefits letter or death certificate photocopy.
- Get an outside loan quote, then compare customer cash against NMAC’s special APR. Use 5.46% as the break-even on the Pathfinder math above.
- Ask the dealer to list the $500 military cash on its own line, apart from customer cash or APR support.
- If orders are likely, compare the NMAC lease, and get NMAC’s answer in writing on how the $500 is treated if you end the lease early. Draft any notice with the letter generator.
The law behind this: 50 U.S.C. § 3937
Rate cap reserved for debt from before service: read the statute , or read § 3937 in plain English, with its enforcement record .
Frequently asked questions
What are the Nissan military discount requirements?
Nissan's terms, read October 16, 2026, require U.S. residency, a valid U.S. driver's license and proof of eligibility. Eligible groups are current Active and Reserve members, veterans within 24 months of separation from Active or Reserve duty, retirees who completed at least 20 years, and a surviving spouse, child or parent who gives the dealer a photocopy of a DD-214, Summary of Benefits letter or death certificate. The car must come from new dealer stock, for personal use, with up to two per calendar year.
Is there a Nissan military rebate for veterans?
Yes, inside a 24-month window. Nissan's terms cover veterans within 24 months of separation from Active or Reserve duty. After that, a veteran qualifies only as a retiree with at least 20 years of Active or Reserve duty. Nissan calls the money Military Bonus Cash, $500 toward the purchase or lease of an eligible new Nissan; the ZIP 28310 offers read October 16, 2026 end November 2, 2026. Ask the dealer to show it as its own line on the buyer's order so you can see it was applied.
Can I combine the Nissan military discount with 0% financing?
Nissan's military page says the $500 can be combined with all current national and regional incentives, so it should sit on top of a special APR. The trap is elsewhere. For ZIP 28310, Nissan's customer cash offers on the 2026 Pathfinder, the 2026 Rogue Platinum and the 2027 Kicks SR each say they are not compatible with NMAC special APR or special lease programs. So you pick customer cash or the special rate, and add the $500 to whichever you pick.
Do I need ID.me or a certificate for the Nissan military program?
Nissan's military page, read October 16, 2026, asks only for proof of eligibility and does not mention ID.me. For surviving family members it names the documents: a photocopy of the DD-214, a Summary of Benefits letter or a death certificate. Nissan's Rogue offers page still tells buyers to print a Military Program Certificate. Ask the dealer before you go which proof it will accept, and bring a current LES, DD-214 or retiree ID.
Will the SCRA lower my NMAC rate if I buy a Nissan on active duty?
No. The SCRA's 6% ceiling in 50 U.S.C. § 3937 is for debt that predates your first day of active duty, so an NMAC contract signed during service keeps the rate on it. The Military Lending Act's regulation carves out a loan that pays for the vehicle and is secured by it. If you financed a Nissan through NMAC before you entered service at a rate above 6%, that loan can drop to 6% through a request to NMAC's Military Center of Excellence.
