Armed Forces Bank Early Pay Calendar: All 24 Dates Follow Its Rule
Part of: The Complete Guide to the SCRA
Armed Forces Bank’s calendar puts military direct deposits one business day before DFAS’s pay date on every 2026 payday. Its FAQ phrases the rule as one business day early, or two for a pay date on a weekend or holiday, and its 2026 calendar obeys that rule on all 24 paydays. The bank’s early pay page, FAQ, printable PDF and 2026 pay article were read on October 16, 2026, and DFAS’s 2026 table the same day.
The calendar against DFAS
Dates below are in the bank’s own month/day format. “Scheduled” is the 1st or 15th that DFAS starts from; DFAS moves a weekend or holiday payday to the business day before.
| Scheduled payday | DFAS pays | Armed Forces Bank “Pay Available” | How the bank’s rule gets there |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11/1 (Sun) | 10/30 | 10/29 (Thu) | The 1st is a Sunday: two business days back |
| 11/15 (Sun) | 11/13 | 11/12 (Thu) | The 15th is a Sunday: two business days back |
| 12/1 (Tue) | 12/1 | 11/30 (Mon) | One business day back, over the weekend |
| 12/15 (Tue) | 12/15 | 12/14 (Mon) | One business day back, over the weekend |
| 1/1/2027 (Fri, New Year’s Day) | 12/31 | 12/30 (Wed) | Holiday: two business days back |
Run the same check on the paydays already past, from January through the 10/15 pay (available 10/14), and it holds there too: all 24 “Pay Available” dates for 2026 are what the FAQ’s rule produces, counting OPM’s federal holidays as non-business days. The bank’s 2025 printable calendar, still posted on its site, passes the same test on all 24 of its dates, including Friday, November 28, 2025, the day after Thanksgiving. Two years running, the rule has been the calendar, which is what makes this bank’s dates predictable before it publishes them. The full DFAS schedule lists every DFAS date with the reason each moved.
Read the table’s last two columns together. When the FAQ says “two business days,” the bank’s calendar counts them from the scheduled 1st or 15th. Counted from the day DFAS actually pays, the head start is one business day in every row. Do not expect a bigger jump on holiday weeks.
What the FAQ promises, and what it puts on you
The Military Early Pay FAQ is short and specific:
- When. DFAS direct deposits go through nightly processing, and pay is ready “at the start of business” on the business day ahead of the actual pay date. No clock time is given.
- Who. The early pay page says the service is free and automatic, open to service members “whether active or retired,” on any checking or savings account with direct deposit. There are no forms.
- Your autopays. Automatic transfers or payments that fire when your direct deposit posts still post on the date you selected.
- When it fails. If your payment information has not reached the bank in advance, it cannot post early. The deposit posts on your normal payday or when the bank receives it.
- The risk. The bank recommends no checks or withdrawals against the deposit until you verify it posted, and says you are responsible for overdraft fees from transactions that clear before the payroll deposit.
Nothing on the bank’s early pay pages mentions VA disability or pension payments. They describe DFAS deposits only.
Two deposits in November, not one
The bank’s own 2026 pay article, published January 12, 2026, says members get three paychecks in July, October and December and only one in November. DFAS’s 2026 table actually gave three months a single payday, not one: March (13th), August (14th) and November (13th). The article names only November.
At Armed Forces Bank, November gets two deposits instead of one, because the 12/1 pay arrives Monday, November 30: Thursday the 12th and Monday the 30th. October and December also get two each, because the 10/1 pay already landed September 30 and the 12/1 pay lands in November. The wait is no shorter, though. The longest gap left this year is still 18 days, from November 12 to November 30, the same length as DFAS’s November 13 to December 1. Budget by the gap, not by how many deposits a month shows.
The catch comes at New Year. The 12/31 pay arrives Wednesday, December 30, and it has to carry you through rent due January 1 and on to January’s mid-month payday, a date neither DFAS nor the bank had published on October 16, 2026. Allotments run on their own track: DFAS’s Ask Military Pay FAQ says it disburses them once a month, on the 1st, so early pay does not move them. The allotments guide covers the rest.
Worked example: what opening an account just for early pay costs
The dollar figures are the bank’s, from the account disclosure printed under its 2026 pay article. Dates are an illustration.
Say you open an account on Monday, October 19 before a PCS move, your pay starts landing there with the 10/29 deposit, and you close the account January 12, 2027, after 85 days. The disclosure says closing a new account within 90 days of opening “will result in a $25 early closure fee.” It also offers a free monthly eStatement or a $5 paper statement. Take paper statements for three months and the total is $40: $25 plus $15. What you bought was one business day, five times. Keep the account past day 90 and choose eStatements, and the same head start costs nothing in fees. The disclosure also says an opening deposit is required and a monthly service charge may apply, without naming a figure; check the account page before you open.
Get Armed Forces Bank's early pay without a surprise
- Open a checking or savings account, then set direct deposit in myPay or with your payroll office using routing number 101108319 (from the bank’s early pay page).
- Skip the paperwork: there is nothing to enroll in. Confirm the first deposit lands a business day early.
- Create a deposit alert in Digital Banking under Settings, then Alerts.
- Set bills and transfers for the DFAS date. The bank posts autopays on the date you chose, not the day pay arrives.
- Keep a new account open past 90 days and pick eStatements to avoid the $25 and $5 charges.
- Check the bank’s early pay page in January for a 2027 table; the 2026 article went up January 12, 2026.

Frequently asked questions
What are the Armed Forces Bank pay dates for 2026?
For the rest of 2026, the bank's Military Direct Deposit page lists pay available on 10/29 for the 10/30 payday, 11/12 for 11/13, 11/30 for 12/1, 12/14 for 12/15 and 12/30 for 12/31 (read October 16, 2026). The same dates appear in its printable PDF calendar and in its January 12, 2026 article on military pay. Each one is the business day before the DFAS pay date, and all 24 dates for the year match the rule in the bank's own FAQ.
How does Armed Forces Bank military early pay work?
DFAS sends pay to the bank electronically before the official payday, and the bank processes DFAS direct deposits in its nightly run, so pay is ready when business opens on the business day ahead of the pay date (FAQ read October 16, 2026). For a weekend or holiday pay date, the FAQ says access comes two business days prior, and the calendar counts those from the scheduled 1st or 15th. There are no forms and no fee: any checking or savings account with direct deposit is already enrolled. If the payment information does not arrive ahead of time, the deposit posts on the normal payday.
What time does military pay post at Armed Forces Bank?
At the start of business. Armed Forces Bank's FAQ says it handles DFAS direct deposits during nightly processing, and pay becomes available "at the start of business" on the business day ahead of the actual pay date (read October 16, 2026). It names no clock time. To know the moment it lands, the FAQ points you to Account Alerts in Digital Banking: log in, open Settings, then Alerts, and create a deposit alert. The same FAQ says to hold off on checks and withdrawals until the deposit shows as posted.
Does Armed Forces Bank early pay work for military retirees?
Yes. The Military Direct Deposit page says Early Pay is offered to service members whether active or retired, and that all of them can access direct deposits one business day before the set pay date (read October 16, 2026). DFAS's retiree dates left in 2026 (October 30, December 1, December 31) become October 29, November 30 and December 30 on the bank's calendar. The bank's early pay pages talk only about DFAS deposits and say nothing about VA payments.
Has Armed Forces Bank published a 2027 early pay calendar?
No, not when checked on October 16, 2026. Its early pay page, FAQ and sitemap showed only 2026 material, plus older 2024 and 2025 pay articles, and the 2026 article was published January 12, 2026. DFAS's own 2027 active duty table was not up on that date either. The rule held on all 48 dates of the bank's 2025 and 2026 calendars, and because the bank states it, you can work out a 2027 date once DFAS publishes the official one: the business day before it, skipping weekends and federal holidays. Label that as your estimate until the bank posts its own calendar.
