Xfinity Military Discount: 2-Year Mobile Line, 39-Month Suspension
Part of: The Complete Guide to the SCRA
Xfinity has a real military program, and most of its value sits in Xfinity Mobile. Verified households get a new unlimited mobile line included with Xfinity Internet for two years, NOW TV free for one year, and Diamond membership (Xfinity’s military page, read October 9, 2026). The offer terms say all three end November 30, 2026, so sign up and verify before then. When orders come, Xfinity runs a separate 39-month suspension for phone lines, while Internet and TV fall back on the federal no-ETF rule.
What Xfinity’s military page offers
| Perk | What Xfinity’s page says | Xfinity’s own price for it |
|---|---|---|
| Unlimited Mobile Select line | One new line, 24 monthly bill credits, with Xfinity Internet | $30/mo with Xfinity Internet |
| Extra mobile lines | From $30/mo | $30/mo |
| Diamond membership | Automatic upgrade, highest member tier | Not priced |
| Peacock Premium | Included for Diamond members | ”currently, a $12.99/mo value” |
| NOW TV | Free for 1 year, 125+ live channels | $20/mo list |
| Moving out of footprint | Mobile-only access fee waived | $25/mo on pre-April 22, 2026 plans |
Read on xfinity.com October 9, 2026, including the offer terms behind each “Pricing & other info” link. All three offers end November 30, 2026. Mobile Select data may slow after 50 GB during congestion.
Eligibility is wide: active and Reserve members of the uniformed services, retirees, veterans, reservists, Gold Star families, and spouses or family members in the same household. Verification happens after you sign in to your Xfinity account. The page names no outside verifier and lists no documents. If verification stalls, Xfinity’s status line is 1-833-231-6446.
The math on a military household
Start with the line. Xfinity’s mobile page lists Mobile Select at $30 a month with Xfinity Internet. Two years of it at that price is 24 × $30 = $720. NOW TV at its $20 list price for 12 months adds $240. That is $960 at Xfinity’s own prices before counting Peacock.
For comparison, the civilian version of the line offer on Xfinity’s mobile page is one free Select line for one year, for new Mobile members on 300 Mbps internet or faster. The military line runs twice as long. The military terms allow one included-line discount per account, so do not expect to stack the two.
The second number shows up on a PCS. Xfinity Mobile requires Xfinity Internet, and Xfinity’s support article spells out what happens when you move somewhere it does not offer internet:
- Plans bought March 22, 2024 to April 21, 2026: a $25 standalone mobile fee per account, every month.
- Plans bought before March 22, 2024: $25 per line, every month.
- Plans bought or upgraded on or after April 22, 2026: no $25 fee, but the $10 Multi-Product Discount comes off.
The military page waives the “mobile-only access fee” in exactly that move but prints no dollar figure. If Xfinity applies it to the $25 charge, on an older three-line plan that is $75 a month, or $2,700 across a 36-month tour. Confirm on the account before you count on it. On the newest plans the military page is silent on the lost $10 discount, so ask before you assume it comes back.
Orders: suspend or cancel, product by product
Federal law sits under all of this. Section 3956 lets you end an internet, cable TV, or mobile contract you signed before your orders once you are ordered to relocate for 90 days or more to a place the contract does not reach. The provider cannot charge an early termination fee, and anything you prepaid past the current billing period comes back within 60 days. The full explainer covers every clause.
| Service | Xfinity’s own option | What § 3956 adds |
|---|---|---|
| Xfinity Mobile, NOW Mobile | 39-month suspension, no service charges, same number on return | Cancel outright with no ETF; you keep the number if you re-subscribe within 90 days after a relocation of 3 years or less ends, § 3956(c) |
| Xfinity Voice | Same 39-month suspension | Cancel with no ETF; the § 3956(c) number rule covers telephone exchange service, though a new address may still mean a new number |
| Xfinity Internet | Seasonal hold 2 to 6 months, once a year: $8/mo suspend or $20/mo slow plan | Cancel with no ETF if on a term agreement, § 3956(e)(1) |
| Xfinity TV | Seasonal TV at $35 to $55/mo | Cancel with no ETF; cable TV is a covered service, § 3956(b)(1)(D) |
| Equipment | Return within 10 days of disconnect or pay an Unreturned Equipment Fee | Return within 10 days, § 3956(e)(3) |
Xfinity terms read October 9, 2026, from its suspension article, Seasonal Convenience page, and Residential Services Agreement.
Two things stand out. The 39-month suspension covers phone lines only; Xfinity’s article never mentions Internet or TV. And the Seasonal Convenience plan is a paid vacation hold capped at six months, not a military benefit. For a 9-month deployment with nobody home, cancelling Internet and TV and keeping the phone line suspended usually beats paying $8 to $55 a month for a hold that runs out. Xfinity Mobile requires Xfinity Internet, so ask on the same call how a suspended line is billed once Internet is gone.
One more reason to suspend rather than cancel the military line itself: its terms say the bill credits stop “if line is cancelled.” Cancelling under § 3956 still ends the free line. Xfinity’s pages do not say whether suspended months count toward the 24 credits, so ask.
How to do it
Handle Xfinity on PCS or deployment orders
- Before you leave, sign in from the military page and verify, if you have not. The Mobile discount takes 1 to 2 billing cycles to show, so do it early.
- For Mobile, NOW Mobile, or Voice: call 1-888-936-4968 to send your orders electronically, or take them to an Xfinity store. You must have received the orders after you signed up.
- On the same call, decide on any device payment plan (pay off or keep paying) and Xfinity Mobile Care (keep paying or drop it from the suspended line).
- For Internet and TV: send written notice with a copy of your orders and the date service should end. The letter generator drafts it. Then cancel by calling 1-800-934-6489, scheduling a call, or visiting a store, the routes listed on xfinity.com/cancel.
- Return the gateway, TV boxes, and remotes within 10 days of disconnect. Get a store receipt or keep the shipping record.
- Check the final bill: no early termination fee, and a refund of anything paid past the current billing period within 60 days. The deadline checker tracks both dates.
- Put a reminder on the calendar before month 39 to reinstate the suspended line.
Things members trip on at Xfinity
A move inside the footprint is not a termination. If your new base is in an Xfinity market, the contract is still supported there. Xfinity’s moving page lets you schedule a transfer up to 30 days out and says you will not be billed for gaps between addresses. Section 3956 is for 90-day-plus orders to a place Xfinity cannot serve: another region, overseas, or a ship.
The 39-month line is disconnected at the deadline. Xfinity’s article says that if it does not hear from you before 39 months, the line is disconnected and you sign up again with a new number. Thirty-nine months is three years plus 90 days, the same window the statute uses for keeping a number.
Voice numbers are tied to the address. Xfinity warns that if you come back to a new address, you may need a new Xfinity Voice number. A mobile number has no such problem.
Refund wording is softer than the law. The Residential Services Agreement says Comcast “may” refund prepaid monthly fees after termination and may run service to the end of the billing cycle. For a § 3956 termination, keeping the current cycle is allowed, but a refund of anything past it is mandatory within 60 days under § 3956(f).
Family lines. If the account is in your spouse’s name, § 3956(d) lets your spouse end your line, and every line on the plan if everyone on it moves with you. If family stays behind, keep their lines live and suspend or end only yours. The spouses and families guide covers who counts, and Guard and Reserve members are covered on qualifying orders too.
Your phone is only one bill on a PCS. The PCS money moves list and the apartment lease guide cover the bigger ones. If you also carry a phone with a national carrier, compare Verizon and T-Mobile, which run their own suspension programs.

Frequently asked questions
Does Xfinity have a military discount?
Yes, through November 30, 2026. Xfinity's military page (read October 9, 2026) lists one new unlimited Xfinity Mobile line for 2 years included with Xfinity Internet, extra lines from $30 a month, an automatic upgrade to Diamond membership with Peacock Premium, and NOW TV free for 1 year. Eligible: active and Reserve members of the U.S. uniformed services, retirees, veterans, Gold Star families, and spouses or family members in the household of anyone who qualifies. Xfinity Mobile requires Xfinity Internet.
How does Xfinity verify military status?
You sign in to your Xfinity account from the military page and confirm your status there. If you are not a customer yet, Xfinity says to sign up first and then come back to sign in. The page does not name a verification vendor or list documents. Questions about a pending verification go to 1-833-231-6446. Its FAQ says the Diamond upgrade takes up to 10 days (the offer terms say about two weeks), NOW TV access up to 10 days, and the Mobile discount 1 to 2 billing cycles after you add the line.
Can I suspend Xfinity during a deployment?
Xfinity Mobile, NOW Mobile, and Xfinity Voice lines can be suspended for up to 39 months if your orders send you outside the U.S. or outside Xfinity's service area for 90 days or more, and the orders came after you signed up. Call 1-888-936-4968 or take the paperwork to an Xfinity store. You pay no service charges while suspended. Device payments and Xfinity Mobile Care premiums continue unless you pay off the phone or drop the coverage. Miss the 39-month mark and the line and its number are gone.
What happens to Xfinity Mobile if I PCS somewhere without Xfinity Internet?
Xfinity's military page says it will waive the mobile-only access fee when you move somewhere Xfinity Internet is not available. Xfinity's support article prices that charge at $25 a month per account for plans bought March 22, 2024 to April 21, 2026, and $25 per line for older plans. Plans bought or upgraded on or after April 22, 2026 have no $25 fee but lose the $10 Multi-Product Discount; the military page does not say it restores that discount.
Will Xfinity charge an early termination fee if I cancel Internet on orders?
Xfinity's Residential Services Agreement says an early termination fee applies only if you are on a minimum term agreement, and its current internet offers are sold with no contract (moving page, read October 9, 2026). If you do have a term agreement from an older promotion, 50 U.S.C. § 3956(e)(1) bars the fee when you terminate on qualifying orders. Either way, return Xfinity equipment within 10 days of disconnect to avoid an Unreturned Equipment Fee.
